SUNDAY SERVICE OF PRAYER & PRESENCE

Please join us on Sundays at 10am in person or online for our Service of Prayer and Presence.

This service emphasizes a contemplative approach of prayer and thoughtfulness. If you’re unfamiliar with this style of service, let our congregation carry you so you can be present to it all.  This approach is intentionally created to be a vessel to hold sacred space and aid in your encounter with God, to open you to the Divine.

Recent sermons are available to watch here or read the sermon blog here.

ELEMENTS OF THE SERVICE

A welcome and announcements as we set our intention for the time.

A gathering ritual (word or song).

A sung prayer that is repeated multiple times for contemplation.

A time to learn and practice a traditional form of prayer and reflection with God.

A reading from the Hebrew scriptures (except for Communion Sundays).

A reading from the Christian scriptures, often as text for the day’s sermon.

The sermon and congregational response. We ask for people’s comments, questions and thoughts on the message.

Prayers of our community.

Closing song.

Charge and Benediction.

Each service is followed by refreshments and fellowship in our social hall.

Spiritual Formation Classes are offered after fellowship. See Events.

Our services typically last about one hour and fifteen minutes. Spiritual Formation Classes usually end at 1pm.

Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month. On Communion Sunday we bring fresh produce to share with our LGBTQ+ neighbors in transitional housing Life Moves.
