Greetings from the Presbytery of San José Peace and Justice Work Group!

We learned from a report issued Nov. 20, 2025 by the American Immigration Council that without the benefit of an attorney at immigration court proceedings, people in our Presbytery have a 70% chance of being deported, often erroneously.

In response to this, we've worked with the Presbytery of San José to establish a free will offering to provide crucial legal counsel for people facing the threat of deportation. Even better, THE PRESBYTERY PLEDGES TO MATCH THE FIRST $15,000 DONATED.

We invite you to give generously to two organizations in urgent need—Rapid Response Network in Santa Clara County (through its fiscal agent, Amigos de Guadalupe) and The Santa Cruz Community Action Board. Your support helps ensure access to legal counsel and a fair day in court for our immigrant neighbors.

We offer this as a faithful and compassionate action in response to increased ICE activity in the Presbytery of San José, and we hope you will join us. Please share this widely – with your Session, Congregation, friends and colleagues!
