Through a clever mix of stop motion animation and interviews, The Wanted 18 recreates an astonishing true story: the Israeli army's pursuit of 18 cows, whose independent milk production on a Palestinian collective farm was declared "a threat to the national security of the state of Israel.”
This film was made in 2014 about events that happened in the small town of Beit Sahour, just next to Bethlehem. It is a dark comedy that tells the true story of people quietly, peacefully resisting an oppressive occupation and shows the absurd lengths to which the occupier will go to hold on to power.
