To prepare for our upcoming Advent retreat, Rev. Erik Swanson will teach a class about the principle questions and invitation to spiritual growth and transformation offered by Dr. Alexander John Shaia in his work, Quadratos:
“Quadratos is a new name for the ancient, universal, four-path journey of growth and transformation. Recognized by every major religious faith and school of psychology, the four-path journey was at the very heart of early Christian belief and practice. Today, it is being rediscovered.” —www.quadratos.org
We will also learn about the tradition, practice and meaning of Advent in preparation for the upcoming seasons of Advent and Christmas. In this Sunday’s spiritual formation class, Rev. Erik Swanson will teach about the tradition, practice and meaning of Advent in preparation for the upcoming seasons of Advent and Christmas.
You can read about Quadratos at the website or in Dr Shaia’s books Radical Transformation: The Four-Gospel Journey of Heart and Mind and Heart and Mind: The Four-Gospel Journey for Radical Transformation.
Using the Quadratos method, Dr Shaia will be leading the Westhope community into a deeper discussion of the story and the levels of meaning of Christmas as we have come to know it at our annual (online) Advent Retreat on Saturday, December 2 9AM to 11:30am.
